Clay for a Day
Do you fancy spending a day relaxing, having fun, learning the basics of pottery and creating wonderful things from clay? Ever wanted to have a go on the potters wheel and throw some pots? Perhaps you have done some clay work before and would relish the opportunity to spend a whole day developing your skills or making that special piece? You can do all of the above at Clay for a Day. Working in the well equipped studio you will spend the day with potter Sara and can choose a Handbuilding day where you can choose from a variety of set projects to make using slab, coil or pinch pot methods, or choose a Wheel Throwing Day where you will spend the day learning to throw on the wheel. You can literally clay the day away! Come on your own, or with friends or family members. Accompanied children are welcome aged 8+. Maximum group size is 6 participants so lots of 1:1 tuition throughout the day.
All work will be fired in the kiln for you to collect at a later date. Some work can be decorated with coloured slip, underglazes or glazes on the day so you will be able to finish your masterpieces!
Choose from a Handbuilding Day, or a Wheel Throwing Day (see below for sessions).
The session runs from 10:00 - 16:00 so bring a packed lunch with you. Tea, coffee and biscuits for morning and afternoon break are included and a large helping of fun and laughter will also be served!
Cost:
Handbuilding Day - £175 per person
Wheel Throwing Day - £200 per person
including all tuition, equipment, clay, glazes, drinks/biscuits.
