Meet Sara
Hello! My name is Sara and I live in Bourn with my husband, three children and a cheeky potter's dog.
After doing pottery and ceramics for 15 years part-time, I decided to take the plunge into full time potting in 2017 and haven't looked back since!
I enjoy working with clay because it is so versatile and you can make many lovely things with it. The feeling of soft wet clay in your hands is hard to beat and I love getting messy. I really enjoy hand building and coiling vessel based domestic ware, but I particularly enjoy throwing pots on the wheel. I work in stoneware and earthenware and love doing Raku firing in my special kiln. There's nothing quite like a good burn!
Above all, I enjoy sharing my love of all things clay with other people. I love teaching all of my workshops and courses, and particularly enjoy working with children and young adults. I have experience of working with children with autism, adults with complex disabilities and adults with dementia. Clay really does have something to offer for everyone.
