Looking for a birthday party with a difference? A clay party is a memorable way to celebrate a birthday or special event and to create a lasting work of art from clay!

Party Options.

Standard 1-hour clay party at Bourn Pottery Studio: The cost is £25 per person (minimum of 6, max of 8) and parties last around an hour including tuition, equipment, clay, glazes and of course, firing in the kiln. The party guests will make their clay art (animal tiles or similar) on the day and glaze it with the colours of their choice. I will then fire the tiles in the kiln, and they will be ready for collection in around 2 weeks.

Standard 1-hour clay party at your home or venue of your choice: The cost is £25.00 per person (minimum of 6, max of 25) plus £40 travel and fuel allowance. Parties last around an hour including tuition, equipment, clay, glazes and of course, firing in the kiln. The party guests will make their clay art (animal tiles or similar) on the day and glaze it with the colours of their choice. I will then fire the tiles in the kiln, and they will be ready for collection in around 2 weeks.

Wheel Throwing Party at Bourn Pottery: Parties will last 90 minutes at a cost of £40 per person (minimum of 6 maximum of 8). Each child will make something by hand (tile or similar as above) and also throw a pot on one of the 2 potters wheels. The session will begin with an explanation about the hand building project and a demo on the wheel, then 2 people will throw their pot on the wheel whilst the others will begin their hand building project, swapping in turn until everyone has had their go. Party guests will glaze their tiles with the colours of their choice on the day - but the thrown pots will be too wet to glaze. These will be fired in the kiln for you as part of the package, but they will be unglazed. I can glaze the thrown party pots if required at an additional cost of £5 per pot (this reflects my time and the glaze used for each pot). The party guests will be able to pick the colour for their pots from a colour chart.
